Rich Makes a Splash

Some of us went to the States last week to do some shopping for our house - finding a front door was the main focus.  We found one and ordered it - it has an oval in the door and two sidelights.  Front doors are really expensive here so we saved thousands by getting it in the States.  Found lots of other things too and brought back the cargo trailer pretty full of goodies.  We were gone Thursday to Saturday and we took Carlee out of school for those days to go with us and help babysit Katia and Mackenzie.

Anyway, the Inn we stayed at had a pool and hot tub.  I happened to be in the right location at the exact right time, and my camera just happened to be set on "sports continuous" so I was able to get these pictures.

Sneaky little Carlee saw the perfect opportunity to push daddy into the pool.
She creeps up behind him while he's looking the other way!

He senses something and turns just as she reaches out and shoves him with all her might!

The look of sheer terror on his face as he realizes that he's falling and can't do anything about it!

Arms flailing, he cries out for help!

Nothing can be done now to help the poor guy!

His leg plunges into the chilly depths!

And the rest of him follows!

Dad is gone, and Carlee just laughs!

(Scroll the other way to see him come out of the water!!!)

Anyway, before the big splash . . .
. . . Mackenzie and I were having breakfast, and through the glass we could see the hot tub and these people soaking.

Carlee, Katia and Rich.

Mmm, orange juice and bran flakes (or fruit loops) - love those Continental Breakfasts!

Those hot tubbers are just having too much fun!

Eventually Kenz and I left the breakfast area and went by the pool.  She wouldn't move from off the carpet and just kept staring at them with this look on her face.
Seriously, she didn't move!

Katia demonstrating how she can blow bubbles out her nose.  This is actually a big step for her - she was our "strong disliker of water" for many years - including the bathtub!

Beautiful Carlee - she was such a good helper on this trip!

Katia the cutie - who had way too much energy on this trip!

And what's the munchkin Mackenzie doing all this time?
Still standing at the edge of the carpet with the same expression!  She must have been hypnotized by the water or something.  It was really funny!

Let me say that I delight in water!  Water for my family to play with and have fun in.  Water that falls from the sky - although I might add we got a little too much of it during this trip, both at home and away!  Water that flows through the taps for cooking, laundering, dishwashing, flushing, bathing, showering, cleaning.  And mostly, for drinking.  There is nothing like that cool, thirst-quenching glass of water!  I read recently (hope I get this right!) that two cups of water first thing in the morning gives your organs a jump start to have them working well all day; a cup of water half an hour before eating (not during your meal) aids digestion; and a cup at bedtime helps prevent heart disease and something else - I think it was stroke.  Not to mention that many headaches happen because your brain is dehydrated and simply needs water.
Isn't water delightful?  Well, it's bedtime - better go drink some water!!!
