The final band concert of the year was last week.
Grade Seven band - can you find Carlee?
Hint: she plays the trombone.
There she is in the pink sweater.
Her band played "That's Entertainment" and "Music from Grease", and then combined with the Grade 8 Band to play "SpongeBob SquarePants".
They received a High Excellence at Festival, but needed Superior to be able to go to Provincials.
Grade Eight Band - can you find Jordyn?
Hint: she plays the clarinet.
There she is in her dalmation dress!
Her band played "Song of the Hebrides" and "Raider's March" (from Indiana Jones).
At Festival they received Superior and got the award for the best band. At Provincials they got Excellence.
High School Concert Band - can you find Jasmine?
Hint: she plays the flute.
There she is in her classy black dress.
They performed "Blue's in 6/8th", "Symphonic Beatles" and "Dances With Wolves".
They received Superior ranking at Festival and Provincials.
Kinda sad as this was Jasmine's last band concert. She's giving up band next year to fit Calculus into her schedule. She's thinking about joining the choir again though so she can still have music in her life!
I delight in wholesome uplifting music!!!
